Some adjustments with my amazons vs. hydra sketch.. still moving things around before I start painting..

Amazons and Hydra

This is the pencil drawing for a new painting I am about to start.  It is made up of a group of sketches that I put together in photoshop.  Once I start painting I will have to adjust some of the poses and expressions (and eye directions) so everything works together.  I also added a super rough color idea..

This one is a combination of a few previous sketches, re-using the themes of a viking girl and a hydra-like dragon creature.  I did this on over a three hours to see if I could finish a painting in a very short amount of time. (one version with ink outlines.. the other with animation pencil)

Red Sonja Color Sketch

Its been a while since my last post, but I have been working on an art book (that hopefully will be finished by the end of January).  This is a quick and fun color sketch I did during a lunch break at work.  It is based on a loose pen drawing that I scanned and painted up in photo shop.

October pin-ups (part one)

My buddy Marco Bucci is doing a painting-a-day project for October, and that inspired me to trying doing a drawing-a-day for the rest of the month.  I'm doing pinups with a halloween costume theme, so hopefully I don't run out of sexy outfit ideas too quickly.

Here is the finished painting, I think it turned out alright.  I tried to leave some areas more loose and sketchy and focused the detail around the girl and her dog.

Here are a couple new things from the last few weeks.  The wonder woman was for my work's sketch club and the other painting is a work in progress that I will be finishing up in the near future.

rio dolphin force colour sketch

A quick painting featuring the Rio dolphin force chasing some starfish poachers! This was a comic book idea that has been on the back burner for a while, and now I'm testing out various painting styles.   

viking painting

Some new work, including a colour sketch and a character design!  Both images started as pencil sketches that I cleaned up and painted in photoshop.  I hope to start on a comic soon so I am trying to develop a quick painting style that I can easily replicate over many panels.

diablo three art contest

An image I painted for a Diablo three art contest, based on the demon hunter character from the game. The site didn't accept the first version so I had to add some more clothing.
